In The Game Of Craps Since The Chip Trays At The Table Are Pretty Small, What Do I Do When It Gets Full?

Do I have to leave the table, cash out and then come back? How does that work? For instance, for a person winning a high number of chips, how do they manage this? Do they make you leave the table so as to conserve space? Just curious to know how all of this works. Thanks.

Give them to the dealer and ask to color up. When you do decide to leave the table do the same. It saves the table from having to make fills for the smaller denomination chips and the dealers will really appreciate it. It also makes it easier for you to carry your winnings to the cash cage, or put them in your pocket(out of sight out of mind)!

Tell the dealer you want to color up then hand him the chips you would like to be converted to higher denominations. Leave yoursef enough to play with though as the casino hates it when a player colors up and then constantly changes the chips back in. Also if you win big amounts put the higher chips in your pocket that way the casino won’t know what you have and can’t pull out tax forms on your if they are not sure how much you’ve won. Never take more than a few thousand with you to a cage cashier unless you want to give up 40% to the U.S. government. Amazing how smart people can be so dumb in a casino.

If the chip tray gets fulls just get the attention of dealer at the table place your chips on the table and asked to be “colored up” your smaller chips will be traded for bigger chips. Lots of times this won’t be needed because in a sneaky attempt to encourage you to make bigger bets when your winning, you are often paid out in bigger denomination than what you were better with (say your betting $5 and won $10, your more likely to get 1 $10 chip than 2 $5’s)
