I purchased this for my hubby who is a welder and is forced to wear a welding hood and safety glasses in an overly hot humid shop. He also has to wear a thick long sleeve shirt, so not to burn himself while working with the lava hot metal. Oh and did I say we live about 1 mile from the Louisiana coast? It is humid here year round. Needless to say the safety glasses fog up and that can be a real safety issue when working with lava hot metal. The comically named Cat Crap works as it is advertised however it is not perfect. Hubby has recommended it to a couple of friends, since it is a lot better that the spray on stuff that is provided at work. However great it is, there was 1 occasion where it had been raining every day for about a week and the safety glasses did fog up. So I would have to say that it works great, but this stuff even has its limits.Cat Crap Anti-FogEK Cat Crap Lens Cleaner

I've only used this once this past weekend. I wouldn't say it completely prevents fogging, but it definitely delays it big time. During a particularly long game of woodsball my mask started to fog up, but not as bad as without this product. I quickly took my mask off and wiped the inside and after that I was fine until the game ended. Apply as if waxing a car. Allow product to dry and buff with a soft cloth. It is also a good cleaner. I think that combining this with a thermal lens will absolutely prevent fogging. I have a non-thermal lens, BTW. A single container should last you a long time. Definitely recommend!!

I bought this stuff originally for my paintball goggles and it works well for about an hour then you have to put it on again. I like how compact it is and all you need is a clean napkin to apply it. Just throw it together with your gear and you don't have to worry about it spilling because it's a paste. I only gave it 4 stars because it doesn't last all day.

I practice karate & I wear glasses. This is not a happy combination - I spend too much time picking my glasses up off the mat. So I went out & bought a pair of sports goggles, they stay on but fog up something fierce. (My *opponents* like sparring with a blind man, though... ;-) For those who don't practice the Ancient Asian Art of kicking-below-the-belt: it is the *ultimate* workout. You sweat an unbelievable amount, making this a true stress test for anti-fog goop. I tried an old spray-on I use for my motorcycle face shield - but that did next-to-nothing to help.

I hit good ol' Amazondotcom & found the three highest-rated anti-fog products & tried them out on successive weeks.

NUMBER THREE is the artfully-named "Cat Crap" Ek Cat Crap Glass and Lens Cleaner It's a waxy substance, you smear it on & by the directions buff it until clear. But I don't know how to tell the difference between "buffing until clear" and "wiping it off." It did do better at mitigating the fogging problem than the old spray-on I had laying around. But it still didn't keep the lenses clear, either. Three Stars.

NUMBER TWO is Sea Drops Sea Drops Anti-Fog & Lens Cleaner This is a viscous fluid, you smear it on & let it dry, then buff. I buffed it just barely enough for the spots to disappear & tried it out. It worked "pretty good." My lenses didn't fog up, stayed mostly clear but by the end of class there was still a little spotting. Much better than the old spray-on, but still not quite as good as number one. Four Stars.

For my money, NUMBER ONE is Fog Tech. FogTech Anti-fog 30ml Solution It's a clear solution, you wipe it on & let dry. That's it, no guessing how much buffing you need. My goggles stayed clear & dry throughout the class. It may be the priciest solution, but it works. Five Stars.

Now I can see the foot coming at my nose.

Much better.
I believe you are talking about "California Craps", which is offered by some Indian casinos.

In California, you are not allowed to win a bet that is determined entirely by the roll of dice. This is why they usually couple the rolling of dice with the flipping of cards.

Most of the casinos that offer this game have two stacks of cards (with different colored backs). Each stack is numbered Ace through 6. The rolling of the dice determines which card is flipped from each stack. The end result is that the odds are the same as a regular craps game.

btw - Vegas Matt's suggestion would not result in a game with the same odds as a traditional craps game. In his game, the probability of "rolling" a pair would be 1/11 instead of 1/6. In order to mimic the odds of a traditional craps game, the "dice" need to be "rolled" individually.

Well, you could simulate a game of craps with a modified deck of cards and get the same odds. Use only the following cards: two Aces, two 2s, two 3s, two 4s, two 5s, and two 6s.

For each "roll", you would shuffle the cards and randomly select two of them. The face value of the cards would count like you had rolled that number with a die (the Ace would count as one).

You just have to remember that for each roll, you must put the two cards selected in the previous roll back in your 12 card deck and re-shuffle. If you removed the cards and left them out, it would change the odds.

Of course they aren't the same. Can't be.

Maybe the very first "roll" when all the cards are in the deck, but once some cards are gone, the chance of getting that number is just a little bit less.

I don't know if the odds change that much that it affects the way you bet. Maybe if you simply counted the one's and six's that have been used, and if there are a lot less ones in the deck, then you bet more on the 8,9 & 10 (and vice versa if there are more 6's gone)

Most of the online casinos work like this, there are micro tables, middle and large. The lowest possible is 1 unit, but there are some with 0.50. I can see where you are going but trust me this doesnt help you.

Good Evening Professor Swag,

Believe it or not, I read your questions on Yahoo Answers. You are 16 years old. From your questions, you sound like a very intelligent young man who is very interested in making money. You sound a little like myself when I was young.

I was very poor. I had a big garden and raised chickens to help my mother feed the four of us. I remember my first summer job. I got a job washing dishes at this Italian restaurant. I was never so happy to see that summer end. I had to give up that terrible job and go back to school. At age 16, I realized going to school was alot easier and more important than washing dishes. The hell with the money.

Like you, I wanted my own money. I was poor and did not have a lot of money. After that summer job, I realized you can only make big money with an education and not from a nickel and dime job or street hustle.

My first $1000 investment was stock in "Jack-In-The-Box- Restaurants" when they had ten (10) locations. I traded Gold in the futures market @ $50/oz right after gold was deregulated. The price of gold shoot pass $1500/oz. I will not even go into real estate investments.

Sure I gamble. I was a (I.L.W.U.) Longshoreman before becoming a Stock Broker. I have hustled dice and cards in the streets for years. Read my Yahoo Question on street dice. No one on the gambling section could answer the question. It would be easy for me to answer your question.

Gambling is a past time and fun to me. Gambling was after, I got my big huge foundation from solid investments. Gambling is no way for a young 16 year old to waste his time. Do you know how much Gold has moved in the last four years? If you would have invested your $100 in gold futures four years ago, you would be worth $10,000 today. Do you know how to read the stock prices? Do you know the US dollar vs the Japan yen? Do you know the price of crude oil? I guess you have been to busy playing street dice and let the big money go by without even (smile) knowing it.

My advise to you. Let me see you post questions in the investment section. When you are able to totally lose $5000 in Las Vegas without blinking, than ask questions in the gambling section.

Live is too short to play games. Study hard and may the force be with you. Peace, from Los Angeles.

I've read ten books by Frank Scoblete and I must say that I disagree with the "reader from Las Vegas" on September 23. Scoblete explains exactly how the house edge works in all his books. In Beat the Craps, he takes the position, which I agree with, that the game can't be beaten if you bet every shooter and he uses the Captain's idea that you can increase your chances to win by betting on select shooters. You select these shooters by using the five-count. The theory is that some shooters might be able to control the dice and by using the five-count you will have a better opportunity to be there when this happens. Far from being "snakeoil" this is logical. There is no downside to playing as Scoblete recommends in this book. At the very least, you get many more comps for your action because you aren't betting on every shooter. This is an excellent book for beginners and intermediate craps players who can maintain their discipline in a casino. I recommend it. As a note, I teach math at a junior college in California and don't consider myself math illiterate. I find it hard to believe that someone could read this book and not understand what Scoblete is doing: Reducing your overall risk since you aren't betting every shooter in the time that you're playing and giving you a good chance to be there when a hot shooter arrives. The proof is to play the system in a casino, as I have done for a couple of years now at twice-monthly visits to Vegas. If you like craps, this is a must-read book.

I read this book several years ago an I decided to read it again before reading Frank Scoblete's new book Forever Craps: The Five Step Advantage Play Method. As I found on my first reading, Beat the Craps is a superior book for craps players as it offers a workable method of cutting down on the number of bad shooters that players must face. It also helps to position youself for those few good shooters that come up every now and then. The book gives a general overview o craps for the novice and then goes into Scoblete's methods of play based on The Captain, a famous Atlantic City craps player. It is very worthwhile reading. I then read Scoblete's new book which is just a masterpiece. He really expands on the information in Beat the Craps based on over 10 years of play with the 5-Count method of play. Forever Craps is a must read and if you have never read any Scoblete I recommend you read his books in this order: Beat the Craps, The Captain's Craps Revolution (this expands on the information in Beat the Craps), and Forever Craps which really does offer an "advantage play" system as far as I'm concerned.

As a novice at craps I found this book had too much story (glorifying the captain). I wanted more strategy backed by factual information. I want to know all the bet arrangements, what they mean and their probabilities for success.
I have been to the tables about 10 times now. I understand about half of what is played. The center of the table is still a mystery. I believe a book with more details, drawings of positions and less story telling would work better for me.

No system of craps play can be judged on just a few trips tothe casino as luck, good or bad, will determine short-range results. Ihave given this 5 count a six year test of bi-monthly play. I estimatethat I have spent some 2,000 hours playing this system in the casinos of Las Vegas and Atlantic City. I use the high roller system almost exactly as described in the book with just a minor variation or two of my own. I have been comped for everything in addition to winning almost a quarter of a million dollars. Does it work? I say yes. Is it perfect? No. But the 5 count has allowed me to be at tables without losing my money and when the hot rolls come, and they don't ALWAYS come, I make up whatever small losses I have and I'm in the black. I won't make a living doing this but it sure beats losing. I want to publically thank Mr. Scoblete for writing this book and his other book The Captain's Craps Revolution because they have made craps a positive experience for me!

Frank Scoblete has written a very intelligent approach to craps based on the supposition that most shooters lose the player money. He discusses a method called the 5 Count which is to be used to decide which shooters to risk money on. It is a brilliant system and a relatively easy strategy to employ in the casino. After reading this book several months ago, I made five trips to the casinos and won on four of them. The 5 Count was a wonderful preserver of my bankroll and I was around for the hot shooters on four of the five trips. This book is the best craps book I have ever read and I look forward to reading his follow up book about the Captain's Craps Revolution.

After reading "Get the Edge at Craps", I finally realize what I have witnessed first hand while vacationing on different occasions in Las Vegas. SharpShooter does know what he is talking about. He even details the experience and the confluences that shape the outcome of the dice.
What I like best about the book is the fact that you can pick it up right away and easily read through it and later get into greater detail about the many variables that contribute to a great roll of the dice. Frank Scoblete is to be commended for his great editorial talents in polishing this book. Second of all, I don't think the casinos really understand the legitimacy of SharpShooters' method that anyone can learn. This book will definitely improve your game and give the average player a perceived advantage in something that is otherwise a random event.
The method that works for me is the three and two V-setup after the point is established plus the box cars aligned on the Come-Out roll. I am still working on a smooth delivery however which does take time to master?
The details about the physics involved in throwing the dice are intriguing to anyone mechanically inclined. The history and craps fundamentals are also especially helpful to the novice and professional alike.
If you want to play like a pro or pretend to know what you are doing then the $10+ dollars is well spent on this book. The casinos will always invent ways to keep the advantage that they have over everyone who comes to play. The methods described by SharpShooter can only level the playing field in a game that is fast-paced to begin with where money is won or lost in the span of a few minutes not hours.

I expected this book to be better than it was. I found Sharpshooter's writing a little laborious and he took way too much time retelling rather dull tales of his great rolls. That's the downer part of the book. If you aren't a good writer, you should stay away from telling your great stories because those stories are dull when read.

On the other hand the book is quite good giving the basics of a controlled throw and has excellent math in it but overall the book was something of a disappointment. The best part of the book was the Foreword by Frank Scoblete who has an exciting style of writing.

I am actually looking forward to the new dice control book "The Golden Touch Dice Control Revolution!" written by Frank Scoblete and Dominator.

I have read all the important books on dice advantage play: "Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos," "Forever Craps," and "The Craps Underground." These three were all outstanding books and I would recommend that you read them in this order.

I do recommend that you read Sharpshooter's book but AFTER you read the others I mention above. It is somewhat slow going owing to Sharpshooter's writing style but he has good information in the book. It is not a complete attack on the casino game of craps as Scoblete's books are but it is still a valuable book to read.

There are some other books out there on craps but none of them are really worth buying. Some are just plain awful, including others that try to teach dice control. Stick with Scoblete and Sharpshooter for now and then get the new book about the golden touch craps by Scoblete and Dominator.

That is your craps curriculum.

I was overwhelmed by the rating of this book and had a "B I G" expectation from this book but I was disappointed because of the following reasons:

1) Author discusses the art of physically "controlling" the dice without a real picture !! He added some picture for dice setting but as far as the gripping and shooting are concerned there are only two "free hand" drawing (can you believe ? amateurish free hand pencil drawing) to "make you understand" the correct grip and throw - two most important aspects of dice control.

2) Why he gave less info on the most critical aspect? Because he conducts a costly seminar on the same topic ($300) and this book is nothing but the "sales pitch" of the same seminar.

3) I found more information on dice setting and dice grip FREE on the following website: dicecoach dot com

Bottom line: You will learn nothing about dice control after you finish this book.

Suggestion : Buy the book "Forever Craps" to learn the game and then take a dice control seminar (if you are serious about gambling and can afford $300 on a 2 hour seminar). Save $10 bucks!

I was overwhelmed by the rating of this book and had a “B I G” expectation from this book but I was disappointed because of the following reasons:

1) Author discusses the art of physically “controlling” the dice without a real picture !! He added some picture for dice setting but as far as the gripping and shooting are concerned there are only two “free hand” drawing (can you believe ? amateurish free hand pencil drawing) to “make you understand” the correct grip and throw – two most important aspects of dice control.

2) Why he gave less info on the most critical aspect? Because he conducts a costly seminar on the same topic ($300) and this book is nothing but the “sales pitch” of the same seminar.

3) I found more information on dice setting and dice grip FREE on the following website: dicecoach dot com

Bottom line: You will learn nothing about dice control after you finish this book.

Suggestion : Buy the book “Forever Craps” to learn the game and then take a dice control seminar (if you are serious about gambling and can afford $300 on a 2 hour seminar). Save $10 bucks!

I read this book cover to cover in the two weeks preceding a trip to Vegas. It has some great information regarding the game of craps and sharpshooting but definitely has some biases on what part of the table to shoot from and dice grips that could have been approached differently. After getting through the book I setup a small practice rig, rolled and recorded hundreds of dice throws attempting to use this method of shooting the dice. I will say that it does have an effect on the end result because I recorded ratios of how often the 7 came up far below the average 1 in 6.
A couple of years ago I started to set the dice (now that I know proper sets these were wrong combos) as well as throw them the same way as possible every time. Which lead me to become interested in anything that could be done to expand knowledge in this area, after getting through this book I felt I understood the concept quite a bit more but was still skeptical of it actually working. I signed up for a private class in Vegas and had some personal instruction along many practice rolls on a real craps table. Using the hardway set (described in the book as 4 4 up and 6 6 facing the outside) I rolled a total of 3 craps numbers out of 200 shots with a sevens to roll ratio of around 1:12 (which is extremely high and will most likely average lower over a longer period of time). The thing that surprised me is the drastic decrease of the craps numbers by placing the 6 and the 1 on the outside of the dice (craps numbers are 2, 3 and 12 - taking the 1 and 6 out of the equation makes it very hard to roll a craps number) with that particular set.
I was also able to play in an actual casino with 2 other sharpshooters and noticed we were the only ones who made profits for anyone betting with the dice. The rest of the time we bet against them and counted on the other shooters to 7 out every time. This of course isn't a science (betting on other shooters) since sometimes they will go into streaks. On my last night in Vegas I also ended up shooting 28 passes, made 5 point numbers and came out with a 7 twice when I set for it. Players at the table who religiously bet against the dice actually switch sides on my roll or picked up and left the table all together. I wasn't able to get any of the good positions stated in the book of stick right or left, even one off from either position at any time that night. Which forced me to shoot from the outside hook or corner of the table, I was still able to pull it off to some degree.
Even though I had a spectacular hand in one casino, I am still in the infancy stage of sharpshooting the dice which is also referred to as "Dice Control". You will find that you cant really control the dice but you can influence them and decrease your odds of rolling the 7 at the wrong time. I recommend reading this book as well as signing up for a class. The additional tips I learned with the one on one instruction helped me a great deal as well as reinforced techniques in the book. The book really is not enough to conquer the Craps table, but is essential before even starting down this path of craps play.

On a recent trip to Las Vegas, I stopped by the Gambler's Book Store for a look. The gentleman there asked if he could help me, and when I replied that I was just looking to see what was new out there, he opined that there was really nothing new to be written in gaming for the traditional table games.
I would like to think that Sharpshooter's book is something new. Sure, controlled or rhythmic throwing and setting are not new topics. What is new is the integration of all elements and presents to the crap player with an open mind the actual techniques that can be done by anyone willing to put in the time to practice and fully understand and integrate all that is presented. While another reviewer mentions that more in depth presentations have been made by other authors such as Scoblete and others, I doubt if any of them presents it in as systematic and as simple as Sharpshooter does here.
There are people that believe that all dice throws are random and nothing we can do can influence that. This book will probably not change your mind. But to those that are open, there are mathematical and logical presentations, as well as rigid mechanics arguments that would have you think that it can be possible. For those that are open to that, this book will detail exactly how you can learn to do it.
As a disclaimer, I have to reveal that I have taken a course taught by Sharpshooter and have seen these things in a casino, as well as had a beginning level of success commensurate to my experience. I will say that the book contains almost everything that was presented in the course materials, with nothing held back. I am a health professional, and my educational background is strongly weighted in the science and mathematical fields. The arguments that Sharpshooter presents are mathematically and physically sound. Everything that Sharpshooter presents in his seminar is here, save the personal instruction on your personal mechanics.
You will not be able to control the dice 100% of the time. Even Randy Johnson doesn't strike out every single batter he faces. But by controlling the outcome of as little as 1 throw in 43 will put you at break even with the casino. Any better than this yields a positive edge in the casino. Compare that to what card counters experience as an edge in blackjack.
For someone that is looking for a different approach to craps than the standard money management angles, this is a book that can give them something new.
